Information System Proposal

Information Systems Proposal BIS/220 Computer Information Systems Table of Contents Introduction3 Understanding the market challenges3 Internal operations and External operations3 Information Technology Comparison chart4 Technology and Information systems benefits and drawbacks4 Bullets of successful strategy5 References6 Thriving as a small business in a competitive market calls for many ingenious strategies to remain afloat. As companies enter into the market they can become easily consumed, overwhelmed and sometimes unnoticeable.Opening business doors as a nostalgic record store immediately identifies a consumer demand, in efforts of remaining competitive and ultimately in business. As many internal operations are facets to efficient workplace process equating to fiscal conservatism, there are also many external factors that are paralleled. This proposal shall outline the effectiveness and detriments of many technologies and information systems that remain current in the market fo r small businesses today. After reviewing the consumer market drive for record store inventory, results have demonstrated the most effective method to liquidate the product inventory would be marketing. By streamlining an effective marketing campaign and a competitive edge strategy the company would have the ability to target specific audience within the context of the company’s products. With the multitude of genres that would be cataloged into inventory, marketing demographics would contribute to the localities, regions and venues in which the marketing campaign would be presented.Although this level of marketing efforts may appear to be complex and over budget. Information systems and technology have streamlined the process and paired cost effectiveness and efficiency into a user friendly simplistic process. As the internal operation of the process weigh heavily- on and rely-on the bottom-line, these operations should be developed and created on strategies of efficiency. Es tablishing a sustainable approach to developing an efficient process begins with a technological platform. From the inception of the business to stages of growth, massive catalogs of data will be compiled, retrieved and ultimately stored. The process to disseminate information, transmit and receive will determine how efficient internal operations are performing. The performance of these operations will also determine the growth or decline of the bottom-line. The approach to offset any negative trending prior to the occurrence would be found within the interest of a database. The database technology can maintain many functions of time and attendance which may offset many incurred cost through payroll and processing. A time and attendance database will also prevent human error through automated recording and time monitoring updating. Many of these databases also provide ad hoc reporting cataloging inventory and summarizing accounts payable and receivables. This method of reporting saves a tremendous amount of time and possibly salaried positions. This maintains inventory and process determining a more accurate bottom-line to produce more accurate accounts sales and inventory purchase orders. These databases provide cost saving measures through staff reduction, lowered overhead and fiscally accountable approaches. The table below (table 1. 1) identifies a comparison of the benefits of a system delivery of benefits. Table 1. 1Information SystemReal-time UpdatePromotional SalesReviewer ControlsMicro BloggingDirect User interfaceAd Hoc ReportingTime and AttendanceEmployee Record Retention Twitter Facebook Web-site KRONOS Legiant Information systems and technology comparison chart Twitter is a technology that has revolutionized the means in which businesses can interact with their clients. It has reduced the cost of marketing campaigns and has given clients more personalized customer service. The Twitter platforms functions as a micro blog whereas users can share thoug ht, ideas and opinions on a real-time display. This has connected companies, employees, client and customers to understand up –to-date news and reviews. This form of technology is of optimal cost effectiveness requiring no fees for registration. With Twitters massive member base, it also holds great opportunity for business advertising for a nominal fee; however, your adverting is in your message. When you post your Tweet (micro blog), its free of charge and the substance of your message will attract followers. Facebook is an excellent technological marketing platform with optimal cost effectiveness and efficient process to monitor the marketing content for the business. This platform is designed to collaborate through group sharing on a intergraded network that will allow users to view current genres of music selections, upcoming events and allow customers to post reviews directly to an individual Facebook webpage designed exclusively for the record store. Facebook will limit the cost of print materials, postage and customer service inquiries by capturing marketing analysis onto this massive database. For more strategic approaches to marketing efforts, the record store can post a professional advertisement to the massive member base, for a nominal fee, and attract customers from many different platforms.Website is information systems and technology merged and stored onto one computer system called a server that host all activity which is posted for the store. This serves as the ultimate platform for marketing, databases and record retention. There is an immediate cost for the server; however, it can be proven to be very cost effective for long-term usage. The computer server will assist in efficient correspondence through creating e-mails accounts for employees. Customer inquiry e-mail accounts can be established in addition to websites for internet use. With purchase of this system the company will save from hosting fees, web page management fees, spacin g and trafficking fees. Computer servers are also an excellent technology to host other databases that may require large amounts of storage space on a computer system and also serves as a repository for internal record retention and centralized databases on share drives. Capturing the essence of what will make this business successful is: †¢Interfacing with clients †¢Business to Business †¢Business to customers †¢Internal Business ProcessWith these aspects in mind it brings us to the internal operations of efficiency. KRONOS time and attendance information system database allows the company to maximize its time when human resource operations are of use. This database captures the time and attendance of all employees and salaried workers that report to the office within an automated process. KRONOS features ad hoc reporting which allows the administrator (authorized account user) to draw information that reports how many hours where worked within pay cycles. It als o maintains employee records to synchronize their worked time and post accrued vacation leave and generates payroll information for check processing. KRONOS is based upon licensing term and can impact the bottom-line during it interim use; however, this system can also reduce staff positions which can off-set the incurred fee. For a more conservative approach to the bottom-line while still attending to the features of KRONOS, LEGANT is a more cost effective solution of time and attendance information systems.Although it features are more limited than KRONOS it still serves as an excellent source of information system that can off-set impact to the bottom-line and time effectiveness. Information systems and technology ultimately maximizes the efficiency and productivity of a company and to the success of all companies I would recommend the implementation of these systems. The technologies and systems outlined in this proposal represent strategic measures for successful engagement to a customer client base which collaborate customer services to product and company quality.

Volcanic Landforms

Volcanic Landforms Volcano is essentially a fissure or vent (opening) which serves as an outlet for hot magma from beneath the Earth’s crust. The hot liquid magma coming out in the form of lava (most commonly molten basalt) is potential of shaping different landforms on earth crust. The most common landforms that are results of volcanic activity include cones, craters, calderas, domes etc. This article gives a description of these volcanic landforms. SHIELD VOLCANOES- These are characterised by gentle upper slopes. The slope varies from only 5 degrees to 10 degrees. The shield volcanoes are made up of mainly thin lava flows around central vent. The low viscosity lava (low silica content) travels down gently and as it cools down it creates less steeper lower slope. These are also found at the flanks of bigger volcanoes like Kilauea is situated on the Hawaiian shield volcano. STRATOVOLCANOES- These are characterised somewhat steeper slopes (30 degrees to 40degees) near the vent a nd the summit due to highly viscous lava flows are not able to travel long distances before they cool down. The less steeper slopes at the base is due to erosional activity. The show inter layering of pyroclastic material and thus sometimes also called composite volcanoes. Pyroclastic material make upto 50% of a stratovolcano. They show a long time of repose which makes them quite dangerous. CINDER CONES- They are small volume cones build up by fall deposites around the eruptive vent. There slope is around 25-30 degrees. During later stages of eruptions the lava may come out from the flanks. Cinder and tephra cones usually occur around summit vents and flank vents of stratovolcanoes.MAARS- The magma heats up the groundwater and converts it into vapours which builds up pressure and results in eruptions containing water and pre-existing rocks. Walls of crater fall back into crater and fills it with loose material. If the crater depth reaches below the water table of the region, the maa rs often fill up with water. LAVA DOMES- The viscous lava or rhyolitic lava is not able to flow far away from the vent, it rather accumulates over the vent. The forecoming lava from the vent pushes and the upper solidified outer surface rolls down to the flank. The slope is very rough due to spines pushed up by the magma below. CRATERS AND CALDERAS- Craters are the depressions which are the results of explosions emitting gases and tephras. They can range upto 1km in diameter. Calderas are large depressions, circular or elliptical in shape with diameters ranging from 1 km to 50 km. Calderas form as a result of collapse of a volcanic structure. The collapse results from evacuation of the underlying magma chamber. The evacuation process of lava chambers in stratovolcanoes in rapid and as the lava goes out the walls collapse and form a large crater. They are enclosed depressions which often collect rain water and snow melt and may form lakes. Like Crater Lake in southern Oregon is about 8 km in diameter and dated to be formed around 6800years ago. FUMAROLES- A fumarole is vent where gases, either from a magma body at depth, or steam from heated groundwater, emerges at the surface of the Earth. Since most magmatic gas is H2O vapor, and since heated groundwater will produce H2O vapor, fumaroles will only be visible if the water condenses. H2O vapor is invisible, unless droplets of liquid water have condensed). HOT SPRINGS- Hot springs or thermal springs are areas where hot water comes to the surface of the Earth. Cool groundwater moves downward and is heated by a body of magma or hot rock. A hot spring results if this hot water can find its way back to the surface, usually along fault zonesGYESERS- A geyser results if the hot spring has a plumbing system that allows for the accumulation of steam from the boiling water. When the steam pressure builds so that it is higher than the pressure of the overlying water in the system, the steam will move rapidly toward the surfac e, causing the eruption of the overlying water. Some geysers, like Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park, erupt at regular intervals. The time between eruptions is controlled by the time it takes for the steam pressure to build in the underlying plumbing system. |

Culture Knowledge and Environment Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3500 words

Culture Knowledge and Environment - Case Study Example To enhance the view, he cut down some trees. With this sense came a number of thoughts that were peculiar (Schumaker, 2011). This case study will shed light on incidences where colonial science misunderstood the environment of the relevant colony as well as highlight the reasons as to why such misunderstandings took place and persisted. This study draws attention on the interplay of influences in incidents regarding colonial science misunderstandings by examining anthropology from the perspective of the history of the field sciences in conjunction with those sciences that use fieldwork in addition to or instead of laboratory work. Light shed on this subject by online sources depict that, this case study attends the field of colonial science itself, the material side of fieldwork, equipment, infrastructure, and work organization suitable for conducting scientific work in a particular field site. Additionally, it allows one to correlate scientific practice and non scientific practices taking place in the same field site that include the sharing of practices between colonial administrators and anthropologists considered in this study. Documented evidence puts across that, field science approaches ideally examine the relationship between the material culture and the technology brought about by science (Sagasti, 2004). Cognitively, the history of colonial science in Africa suffered from very sharp dichotomy between the indigenous and the external factors whereby Africans viewed science as a European import more or less transferred successfully into a hostile environment. The field of science perspective brings to the history of colonial science in Africa the ability to ground that science in its African context and therefore understanding colonial science from an African perspective, an anthropologist had to live there for a length of time. While in their stay, these anthropologists observed some stern ideologies between the relevant society and the colonial science (Chakrabarti, 2004). Scientific research, as a central tenet of its professional ethos, the colonial science misunderstood the environment of the relevant colony due to sharp difference in mode of communication. Most colonial scientists did not understand the language used by the Africans and vice versa was true. Learning the common mode of communication in the relevant society was the key to professional ethos of colonial science. This meant that, one had to collect data, observe the daily activities of the indigenous people of that society, and finally resolve to obtain a clear view of the local inhabitants. Theories brought about by some anthropologists explaining instances where the colonial science misunderstood the surroundings of the relevant colony put across that, Africans regarded colonial science as an import from the west and had no good intentions for their cultural behavior and their social activities (Bloom, 2008). The colonial science wanted to colonize the Africans without learning the relevant means to deploy in order for them to get along with the presence of colonial science. Furthermore, a cognitive misunderstanding between colonial science and the relevant colony occurred in India. Let us first bear this in mind; before colonial science came into being, people understood science as a social activity, not an esoteric. Science ideas are not simple products of logic of experimental methods rather they stem

Looking into these factors, GCC countries are trying to develop several environmental policies to reduce the consumption of oil and gas. ... Rapid energy demand growth can be attributed to three several affiliated causes. Due to several demographic changes, industrialization and low price level are motivating people to consume electricity as major energy resources. The GCC countries are manufacturing and distribution oil as the form of a cartel the name of this cartel is OPEC. They are maintaining the price of oil in global countries. Moreover, due to total control over oil and gas, OPEC is increasing the price of oil and gas on regular basis. In addition, burning of fossil fuel is increasing the level of carbon emission that is resulting rapid global climate change. Looking into these factors, several organizations and industries within all the GCC countries are trying to reduce the consumption of oil and gas. They are trying to implement substitute energy resources of oil and gas in their business process. Demand for solar energy and electrical energy is significantly increasing in UAE. What is a (successful) business strategy Example of Volkswagen Group Essay

What is a (successful) business strategy Example of Volkswagen Group - Essay Example The description of this research paper will incorporate the integrated nature of the course of development of corporate strategy along with the description of the four key dimensions of a well-developed business strategy. The research paper is a description of the issues related to the development of a business strategy. The analytical discussion will be supported with evidences from the strategic operations of the Volkswagen group.Business strategy is the basis of successful business that helps the organizations achieve the desired strategic goals and objectives that are long term in nature. Besides the prevalence of different types of business strategies to choose from for the organizations, that strategy is considered the best which increases the chances of prevalence of the organizations in an extremely dynamic world, both at present and in the future. The development of corporate strategy revolves around two major aspects such as setting the objectives and reaching the results tar geted. Every business establishes objectives but lacks the desired level of cohesion between the set objectives and the path chosen to be followed for supporting them. The integrated nature of the strategic development helps the organizations in choosing the right direction of fulfilling the objectives. The integrated approach towards the development and implementation of strategy is therefore referred to as bridging of the â€Å"relevance gap†. The vision is that single succinct statement that defines the goals which are medium to long term in nature. .... For example, the vision of the Volkswagen group for the ‘strategy 2018’ is to make the group a leader in the global environmental and economic perspective among the manufacturers of automobile. By the year 2018, it aims to become the world’s most fascinating and successful automaker5. 2.2 Components of Vision The vision is composed of three essential components that form the basis of successful functioning of the organization. The components are the values, purpose and leadership. The importance of value is justified through choosing of the best valued guiding actions and goals of the organization. Purpose is essential because it not only drives a company forward but also helps in building sustainable advantage. Purpose and value, both cannot operate in isolation and thus for making them work, leadership is essential. It helps in sustaining the organization’s values and purposes3. 2.3 Mission A mission describes the present business of a company. The missio ns of a company can be multiple in its nature and it is the vision that guides the formulation of the mission. The mission helps the organization in deciding the planning process that will fulfill the objectives and help to achieve the ultimate goal of the organization. For example, in review to the vision statement of Volkswagen, the following and many more mission statements have been formulated that is aimed towards the achievement of the strategic goals: Preparing for the challenges in the global competitive market Consistent building up of the company’s strengths and targeting new goals Optimization of CSR and management of the sustainability factor Enhancing the compliance of the company with legal requirements and

Is One Child Policy in China Effective Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Is One Child Policy in China Effective - Essay Example The implementation of the one-child policy saw the light of day early 1980s. This legislation came in to curb the unprecedented population increase that took place a couple of decades before 1980s. Formulation and drafting of the policy had started late 1970s, but the actual implementation took place in 1980 and subsequent years. Even though population increase was getting out of control, it was difficult to get the policy operational. Since the 1980s, one-child policy implementation has been dynamic due to the adoption of some specific changes from time to time.In light of the provisions made in the policy, there are a number of purposes served by the one-child requirement. The ultimate goal of the policy is to control and manage Chinese population. The operational aspects of the policy were designed to reduce births in the country. With reduced births within and across the country, population growth rate would significantly reduce. In other words, the essence of the policy is to re duce fertility levels, discourage couples from having many children, and ultimately reduce the general population in China (Wan, 2012).To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the policy promotes family planning through use of contraceptives. Government-funded agencies conduct massive awareness and creation and public education on matters of population, social welfare, and economic development. In essence, the purpose of the policy is to enhance the interconnection between the three variables.

Hypothetical Working Agreement Paper Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Hypothetical Working Agreement Paper - Essay Example After reading through the work, you are free to contact me through the message board for any clarifications and amendments and I shall be glad to assist you. Thank you. Hypothetical Working Agreement between Clinician and Sheila who wants her children back Introduction The use of illegal drugs such as cocaine, marijuana and heroine continue to be a critical issue in our contemporary world. The menace has no proved advantage but day in and out, people get themselves in it. According to the Schaffer Library of Drug Policy (2006), â€Å"The effects of marijuana and THC on several intellectual and cognitive abilities with drug doses commonly used in North America today.440 Short-term serial position memory was significantly impaired with the higher THC and marijuana doses, but not with lesser quantities.† The same is true for cocaine and other hard drugs. The cause of illegal drug usage results from false ideas peddled about them. In some circles, it is believed that the use of dr ugs can improve intellectual performance but people who follow these ‘doctrines’ only end up retarding their intellectual capabilities instead of improving it. It is a situation of this nature that Sheila currently find herself in; resulting in the adoption of her two children by the Child Protective Unit. But of course, there is hope for Sheila as long as she is willing to be helped. Assessment Sheila, who lives in Austin, Texas No.1 Westend Street, is a 27-year-old mother with two kids. The woman, a White American by descent is currently separated with her husband and lives with her cousin in Austin, Texas. The 27 year old lady is a Catholic and works with a local restaurant as waitress though she is a first degree holder in Education. Sheila has had four years previous working experience as a teacher; at which time she received as much as $1800 a month compared to the $900 she takes currently as a waitress. The lady, who justifiably deserves more than her current soc ial status has a problem of drug addiction. She has been using crack cocaine for four years. Meanwhile, â€Å"Existing law provides for services to abused and neglected children and their families† (Department of Social Service, 2007). Consequently, Sheila’s two children, ages 7 and 9 were removed from her care by Child Protective Services when her addiction because noticeably clear and she started losing control in bringing the kids up. Though Sheila admits the stand of the Child Protective Services is legal, she seriously feels that she needs her children back under her care. This is because the situation makes Sheila feel even more irresponsible, disrespected and guilty. Apart from drug addiction and the separation of her children from her, Sheila has also separated with her husband and this situation also causes her a lot of worry. Because of the separation of both husband and children, Sheila sees herself as an outcast and this demoralize her a lot. She feels reje cted and even cheated for losing her children. Sheila addiction has taken from her some degree of social recognition and respect. What worsens her situation are her biopsychosocial stressors which includes, peer pressure, poverty, depression, low self-esteem and lost of dignity. However, despite all her problems, Sheila possesses some excellent qualities. This is a confirmation of the saying that â€Å"nothing is all wrong: even a stopped clock is right twice a day†. Among other things, Sheila is courageous, loving,

Final Portfolio Project - Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Final Portfolio Project - - Term Paper Example However, Apple is currently facing plenty of HR problems. Change is inevitable for Apple in its HR management to maintain its supremacy in the corporate world, especially in the consumer electronics industry. This paper is written as a change management plan for Apple Inc. The problem, the recommended change, and the goals of the recommended change The major problem associated with Apple Inc. is its poor handling of HR management. Apple has the habit of asking the employees to work overtime most of the times. They disrespect the modern concepts such as work life balancing of the employees. â€Å"The work culture in Apple is demanding and the employees forced to work for 60-70 hours per week. In other words, in Apple there was always more work to do than the employees and hence Apple encourages workaholics† (Qumer, 2009, p.7). Apple has the habit of threatening its employees; they warn the employees that the company is interested in employability rather than employment security . Moreover, Apple Inc. prefers individual work over team work even though modern scientific business management principles strongly support team work for improving productivity and efficiency of the employees and the company. Apple is keeping tight secrecy while developing new products. Even Apple employees may not get much information about the company’s strategies to develop new products. In other words, Apple Inc. is not taking its employees in confidence. â€Å"Apple employees know something big is afoot when the carpenters appear in their office building. New walls are quickly erected. Doors are added and new security protocols put into place. Windows that once were transparent are now frosted. Other rooms have no windows at all. They are called lockdown rooms: No information goes in or out without a reason† (Lashinsky, 2012). Qumer (2009) mentioned that â€Å"Unfairness in promotions and overall treatment is a common complaint in Apple Company† (Qumer, 200 9, p.15).Thus the mutual trust between the employees and Apple Company are significantly damaged because of the poor HR strategies. Apple Inc. should implement drastic changes in its HR management. They should learn lessons from their past experiences. Nadler & Nadler (1997) pointed out that downsizing occurred in Apple Computers in the 80’s and 90’s because of the absence of real organizational change (p.11). In fact Apple Company was on the verge of destruction during this period because of the reluctance of the management in implementing changes. However, the management realised their mistakes and implemented drastic changes during the beginning of 2000 and tasted big success. The same situation is prevailing now. The loss of Steve has created a vacuum at the top of the company. Leadership problems are already visible in Apple Inc. under such circumstances; reluctance in implementing changes in HR management may bring more harm than good. Instead of threatening the employees with respect to employment security, Apple should show more readiness to hear the problems of the employees and settling it. They should give more respect to work-life balancing of the employees and avoid overtime works as much as possible. Discriminations while deciding promotions should be avoided as much as possible. Moreover, the company should take its employees in confidence. They should try to reduce the gap between the company and the employees. Instead of individual work, Apple should encourage teamwork more so that the stress levels of the employees

The Role & Impact of Treatment for Individuals with Substance Use Research Paper

The Role & Impact of Treatment for Individuals with Substance Use Disorders - Research Paper Example rious activities including research and trends with the purpose of significantly improving â€Å"prevention and treatment and to inform policy as it relates to drug abuse and addiction† (National Institute on Drug Abuse, n.d.). The â€Å"Results from the 2010 National Survey on Drug Use and Health† for instance revealed that â€Å"in 2010, 4.1 million persons aged 12 or older (1.6 percent of the population) received treatment for a problem related to the use of alcohol or illicit drugs† (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): Past Year Treatment, 2011, par. 3). In this regard, the current research aims to proffer pertinent issues relative to the role and impact of treatment on individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), particularly with cocaine, heroin and prescription drugs, or those classified under illicit drugs. The discourse would initially provide the definition for SUDs, prior to delving into the role and impact of treatm ent, as required. â€Å"Substance abuse is defined as a maladaptive pattern of substance use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress as manifested by one (or more) of the following, occurring within a 12-month period: Recurrent substance use resulting in a failure to fulfill major role obligations at work, school, or home (such as repeated absences or poor work performance related to substance use; substance-related absences, suspensions, or expulsions from school; or neglect of children or household). Continued substance use despite having persistent or recurrent social or interpersonal problems caused or exacerbated by the effects of the substance (for example, arguments with spouse about consequences of intoxication and physical fights)† (American Psychiatric Association, 1994, p. 181). Treatment of SUDs would therefore depend on various factors: the type of substance or drugs used, the length of time these substances or drugs have been continuously used, the state or mental condition of

Police Abuse Essay Example for Free

Police Abuse Essay Police brutality is the excessive, unreasonable use of force against citizens, suspects, and offenders. A study showed that most citizens complained against police officers because of the use of profanity and abusive language towards them, the use of commands to move on or get home, stopping and questioning people on the street or searching them and their cars without probable cause, the use of threats to use force if not obeyed, prodding with a nightstick or approaching with a pistol, and actual use of physical force or violence itself for no reason at all. Police brutality causes a lack of communication between minority groups and the police department and a lack of trust because of previous run-ins with brutality. In some cases police brutality runs over into an officers personal life as well. There have been several cases where an officer is arrested due to domestic violence and leads to an investigation of their work life. Most of the time there are cover ups, when domestic disputes occur so that the department does not get negative coverage if the incident was to get out, (2002, November). Ethics are considered a structure for most departments in the United States. There are several bad apples that get greedy and are cocky at times and think that they cannot be touched if they do wrong. Police departments around the U.S. have several issues with corruption, misconduct, and brutality. Most of  the time these issues are covered up so that, these officers do not give the departments bad names and people do not trust them and they, are having more crime on their hands instead of defeating the crime. In recent years, police actions, particularly police abuse has come into view of a wide, public and critical eye. While citizens worry about protecting themselves from criminals, it has now been shown that they must also keep a watchful eye on those who are supposed to protect and serve. This paper will discuss the types of police abuse prevalent today, including the use of firearms and recovery of private information. I will also discuss what and how citizens rights are taken advantage of by the police. Some measures necessary to protect ourselves from police taking advantage of their positions as law enforcement officers with greater permissive rights than private citizens. All citizens must take affirmative actions from physical brutality, rights violations, and information abuse. Members of the police force are government officials who enforce the law and maintain order. They are engaged in dangerous and stressful occupation that can involve violent situations that must be controlled. In many of these confrontations with the public it may become necessary for the police to administer force in order to take control of the situation. As unfortunate as it may seem however, police officers are injuring and even killing people through the use of excessive force and brutal treatment. In regard to police abuse, there will be many officers who feel that their job of fighting escalating street crime, gangs, narcotics violations, and other violent crimes is difficult already, to such an extent that worrying about excessive policy for abuse behavior will only further decrease their ability to fight crime effectively, efficiently, and safely. This abuse must be monitored so that police do not forget who they are serving; not themselves, but the public. This means that even the criminals, who are a part of the public, have certain rights, accurately identified as civil rights. One of the main police abuse problems is physical brutality. I think that there should be some kind of written policy that would restrict physical force to the narrowest possible range of specific situations. For example, there should be limitations on the use of hand to hand combat, batons, mace, stun  guns and firearms. However, limiting policies actions will bring much debate, especially from police officers and administrators themselves. Many feel that their firepower is already too weak to battle the weapons that criminals have out on the streets, thus limiting their legality of gun use will not only endanger them, but the innocent bystanders who must endure the hierarchy gun power creates in the benefit of criminals. In simple terms, corruption in policing is usually viewed as the misuse of authority by a police officer acting to fulfill personal needs or wants. For a corrupt act to occur, three distinct elements of police corruption must be present simultaneously: Misuse of authority, Misuse of official capacity, Misuse of personal attainment, (Kornblum 1976: p 71). It has been said that power inevitably leads to corruption, and it is yet to be recognized that , while there is no reason to suppose that policemen as individuals are any less fallible than other members of society, people are often shocked and outraged when policemen are exposed to violating the law. Not only should officers use brutality in very limited situations, I think that it would help requiring officers to file a written report after any use of physical force, regardless of how seemingly insignificant. Although, if every incidence of police abuse was requested to be reported, how many actually would be? Maybe only those serious enough, as depicted in new guidelines, would make it, leaving some space for officers to exert pressure without crossing serious and abusive policy. Another good tactic to control police brutality is to establish a system to identify officers who have been involved in an inordinate number of incidents that include the inappropriate use of physical fo rce. The incidents should then be investigated. For those offices who are frequently involved in unnecessary police brutality, they should be charged, disciplined, re-trained, and offered counseling. If such treatment proves ineffective, officers who violate abuse standards should be brought up on review before an administrative board made up of citizens and police officials. Officers will most likely ask, Is identifying abusive officers a  form of prejudice? The police officer is there to serve and protect the public who pays his or her salary. The officer should then be subject to any investigations into his or her abusive actions on the job. Yet even if internal policy and external government supervision is successful, it is difficult to say how the ethics of police officers will affect abuse policy as they are based on personal background and upbringing that have little to do with the issue at hand. While there are specific solutions to brutality and rights abuse, there are also some general solutions that could be implemented before the problems even arise. For example, there should be changes in police officer training. Some communities have demanded their officers receive higher education. However, there is no proof that well-educated officers rely less on abuse and more on departmentally sound investigation techniques. The length of training of police personnel should be increased, as has been the recent trend throughout the years. The average length of police academy programs has more than doubled, from about 300, to over 600 hours; in some cities, 900 up to even 1200 hours has become the new rule. (Silverman 1999: p 124) As the time devoted to training has increased, the institutions should also stress the importance of the growing trends in criminal activity so that they are prepared to deal with them. These include such areas as race relations, domestic violence, handling the mentally ill, and so on. This will, in turn, enable operations run more smoothly, hopefully avoiding police abuse problems in the future. Methods must be implemented which effectively deal with police who tend to cross the line, from simple situations to serious firearm use or prejudice. Some of the solutions, particularly the policy changes, will be met with controversy and will be difficult to implement. Keeping track of police actions is the next step in self-protection. There have been thousands of reported incidents of police misconduct in the countless cities throughout the nation, and probably thousands more that transpire without any mention. Law enforcement officers in the United States have been granted powerful authority to assist them in serving and protecting the people of this country. Many of them use their authority to uphold their duties with honor and  integrity. However, the abuses of these powers are taking place with more and more frequency. The police scandals that have surfaced within the past decade have been multiplying. If drastic measures are not taken to restore the integrity of the United States Law Enforcement, chaos will permeate throughout the nation. As citizens begin to lose their trust for law enforcement, they will gradually lose their trust in the system. While the threat of a world war has diminished, the violence on the streets across America has increased at a dramatic rate. Police are forced to face this violence and are sometimes caught up in the same violent and abusive cycle whole trying to fight it. Citizens realize that there are limits as to what a police officer can do. To make society a safe place for both citizens and officers, it is imperative that they work together for a comprehensive checks and balances system. The United States Constitution guarantees certain rights for everyone, and is the very backbone of this country. If these rights are to be ignored, either through permissive laws enacted by law enforcement against private citizens, or through a lack of maintenance of existing protective legislation, private citizens; which means the entire country, will become paralyzed. Because of this, the opportunity and freedom which this country is built on must be enforced, and those charged with doing so must not abuse their power. KIWI mostly people prefer to go for Whittaker for its purity and vegan .So it goes with Whittakers also, they set the price as not to earn the profit only but to keep the clientele attached with brand furthermore. Competition-based Pricing: Whittaker follow the steps to stay longer in the market via setting the price of goods in accordance with the price of similar products (already existing or newly launched). As we know very well, Whittaker chocolates are liked by KIWI people not only of its pricing but also their quality in chocolates. According to marketing manager of Whittaker, cocoa butter is more expensive but still they are selling chocolates on normal price which is beneficial for company output as comparison to other company cocoa like Cadbury. Differential Pricing: On the basis of differential pricing, Whittaker chocolates can promote and sell their products through coupons, mega sales, price rebates and distribution outlet. Also its depending on demographics or customer distinctions like age, lifestyles, status, and income. Even the other ways like television, print media and radio are also been adopted by this company to grab more attentions. Public Relation: the word of mouth is also known as variant of marketing. Same as doing by Whittaker Company. They give first preference to public relations because majority of companies taken activity into action for its customers.it is called jargoned word of mouth, technical or tailored to a product. It becomes very important to entertain that Whittaker is doing well in. Whittakers should design promotional campaigns in other countries according to their regional language at the world level. It will convey a message that this brand has a product to treat every sector of people Answer to Question No. 4: Exclusive: Hereby the company has taken much of the exclusiveness of distribution in its own hands. The example for this can be drawn through the website of Whittakers. A wide ranged catalogue covering the entire range of existing products, their descriptions is mentioned along with pictorial representation of product packaging. Selective: Whittakers is a company that explores more of strategy of selective distribution as the products and distributions of the company are for limited area or people. Though it is opposite to an open distribution system but a depicting one for the business nature of the company. This strategy has its own charm as because the area of competition decreases the margin of profit earning increases. Henceforth if a global market player like Cadbury or Nestle which has an open distributions system will not be successful to earn the clientele in business territories of Whittakers as because the impact of Whittakers on KIWIs is century long. A foreign brand cannot afford such a high cost of production by paying international taxes. In case if they try launching a product or product line by compromising slightly with the quality even, the newly customer will built rather more strong interest in their previous brand of chocolate. Intensive: Whitaker though has not it available for entire world through all different means of distribution however it is intensive approach of distribution for the areas where it is popular. Other methods for distributions: Direct Method: the company should start the company should seek for franchisees or their own branch outlets at continental level. Indirect method: by adopting this method the company can reach put to the areas where it already is not having trade currently without losing the authority of decision making. Channel distribution: by adopting this method the company can open its outlets by sharing the business compulsion with local potential natives of foreign lands. Answer to Question No. 5: Product: product quality plays a crucial role in selling of product. If there is good quality .then, everyone likes to buy the product. For example Audi car, people like to buy the Audi because of its high performance and also good looking. Price: Price should be according to the market and the service/product. For BIC the manufacturers of lighters, razors and pens should provide the services of the product at the affordable price to attract more customers. Place: Placement is also play an equal role for company. For example Amway Company sells their product through independent business owners of worldwide. In the India, mostly like to sell their second hand through car agents or dealers. Promotion: companies doing advertisement on radio, television, on social sites like Facebook, yahoo and Other ways like sampling, packaging, branding and coupons for the promotion of product. If we talk about Whittakers chocolate all these things are important. For products, they are using 33% cocoa butter as comparison to Cadbury and affordable price, good placement and promotion. Marketing Plan For Tyrrells Potato Chips Marketing Essay

Marketing Plan For Tyrrells Potato Chips Marketing Essay The market for potato crisps in UK is a competitive market. It is very difficult to enter this market. Walkers is the biggest snack company in UK. There are also many competitors from domestic and international. For example, Pringle is a strong competitor for chips chips market. The recources, suppliers, buyers and customers were control by these big chips companies. However, the Tyrrells Potato Chips did. Since 2002, Tyrrells Potato Chips started to focus on a niche market of potato crisps; namely, the Premium Crisp market focusing on more affluent customers. The growth of the company is important for the companys owner. Tyrrells Chips is in a niche market, the chips are produce for specific group of customers. Therefore, the company need to meet these customers unique need. Firstly, customers from the higher social grades are slightly different from other general customers, they tend to spend more on better quality food. Tyrrells could use quality control to ensure their product meets a high standard and develop Tyrrells Potato Chips flavours. In addition, they need to find out more flavors of the chips, then evaluate which one can be accepted by these higher social grades customers. For example, develop the flavour of foie gras might more attractive for these customers than develop flavour of pork rind. The customers from higher social grades care about their health; especially female customers. The reason of this is ladies are more conscious of their weight and size. Customers who from higher social grades have more social events and formal meetings with people form the same grades. Tyrrells customers also need to care about their public images. That is a reason that customers from higher social grades usually do not want to try crisps. Therefore, Tyrrells Chips need to be produced by lower oiled and lower calories. The company need to develop the technique to produce a much healthier product. The Tyrrells Potato Chips customers are much more discerning buyers. Therefore, the company need to build the brand. Improve the customers loyalty of the brand. Though attract customers to join Tyrrells culture and build trust with their customers. In fact, regular customers is the most important group of people that Tyrrells should make. To Tyrrells, find out a solution that keep their customers consume Tyrrells Potato Chips regularly is more important than set a strategy that attract new customers. Branding is an important part of continued customer trust; however, the strength of retail brands is such that it is more and more difficult for newcomers to compete. Burt (2000) argues that grocers own brands are at least equal to those of manufacturers brands  [1]  . Therefore, Tyrrells needs to get their brand more recognised in order to compete in this tough market. Furthermore, these customers also need their foods have a premium price, in order to demonstrate their social grades. These customers prefer their foods are different from ordinary customers, they will not like to choose the same thing with ordinary customers, for example, Walkers crisps or Nandos Hot Peri Per. They want to choose something with premium price that can show their unique taste, even though the difference is so slightly that people can hardly recognize. Secondly, Tyrrells Potato Chips company still need to let their customers know what they really want customers know. The company should especially show their particular way to produce the chips. Including promote the advantages of Tyrrells Court Farm, which in the heart of the Herefordshire. In addition, how these advantages could influence the chips quality. Tyrrells also need to particular advertising their farm, which is local, reliable, and safe. The company also can let their customers know about their especial way of the hand-made chips, include which steps of the chips-making process are make by hand, in addition, why the company prefer hand-made rather than machine. For example, hand-made chips can ensure the chips thickness mostly the same, hand-made can also make sure the flavor is well mixed. Tyrrells could emphasis they are healthier food. They can show the science and technology research department, and assembly department though advertise. Furthermore, low fat, low oil, low calories need to be emphasised of the advertising process. The company also the feedback of the customers. Tyrrells customers usually come from higher social grades. These customers are sensitive, if these customers feel dissatisfied of the chips for several times, they might never buy Tyrrells again. The worse thing is, these customers might communicate with their social circle, it can make bad impressions for other customers. To Tyrrells, using price skimming strategy and focus on service can hold more customers from higher social grades. Finally, Tyrrells could through test the market to forecast the trend of the market. For Tyrrells, test the market seems the best way to know their new product can be accepted by their customers or not. They can test their new product in the best-selling place, for example, the test results from London Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum Masons are more reliable than the results from Tesco Express. Task 2 To be a competitor in the chips market, Tyrrells need to seek the niche market of all the chips market. For this reason, Tyrrells Chips have to develop something that different from other competitors. Tyrrells market positioning is the particular chips for customers who from higher social grades or the discerning buyers. Thus, developing long-term relationship with these customers, improving customers loyalty and increasing the regular customers should be taken into account. As a firm that consider to construct a long-term strategy and structure, further develop long term customer relationship and equally long-term value with its customers, Tyrrells Chips might need to use marketing mix. The marketing mix is the set of controllable, tactical marketing tools that the firm blends to produce the response it wants in the target market.  [2]  Marketing mix could be suggested to Tyrrells Chips who depends on customers. Elements of the marketing mix are often categorized into Four Ps; Product, Promotion, Place and Price. Firstly, Tyrrells need to focus on their product: product is the most important thing in Tyrrells sale strategy. The firm have to control their chips quality and to invest in technology. Undoubtedly, Tyrrells customers want the chips can be the best chips in the market. They need the chips healthier. Thus, Tyrrells have to ensure their chips with much less oil, fats and calories. In addition, for Tyrrells niche market, service is another important element in product. Building closer relationship with customers can improve customers sense of regard. Tyrrells customers belong to higher social grades, these customers society are more refined and courteous. In this situation, service can be the most influential element to keep excellent customer relationship. For example, some customers might worried about the bad small with they speak after they have chips, in this situation, Tyrrells could put gum inside the chips package to solve this problem. Furthermore, Tyrrells should pay attention on packaging design. Customers who can buy Tyrrells Chips are discerning buyers, therefore, Tyrrells should use the package design to attract these customer. Classical type design should be the best choice for Tyrrells. These customers have their own standard and preference of aesthetic. Classical design might be the safest way. In the other hand, Tyrrells should extend their vision. It is beneficial for Tyrrells to develop new product, rather than only produce chips. The firm can expend their product line. Other snack foods can be developed with the same way. For example, some people might not like eat chips because the crisp sound, this sound can make other around people feel uncomfortable and disrespect. To make sure customers can taste Tyrrells anywhere, the firm can develop other puffed food with less sound. Secondly, Promotion should be taken seriously. It is necessary for Tyrrells to promotion themselves. Promotion is the effort to inform and persuade potential customers in order to accomplish the sale of the product, services, or ideas.  [3]  The core of promotion for Tyrrells is building brand awareness. Advertising might be the best and commonest way to promote Tyrrells Chips. The firm can advertise their product by TV, poster and other mediums. TV advertise might be the most widely way to promote Tyrrells Chips. However, TV advertising also have its disadvantages. Normally, luxury brands and other brands for higher social grades customers resist TV advertising. TV advertising is normally for mass market. Contrarily, Tyrrells target market is niche market. Thus, the firm should avoid using TV advertising to equate with cheap brands. Advertising with luxury or fashion magazines could be batter for Tyrrells. To link with these luxury brands inside the magazines, Tyrrells can improve their brand level. To co-operate or to sponsor relevante events is another way to promote Tyrrells Chips. Inviting customers to these events can show these customers more about Tyrrells. Tyrrells also can invite their customers have a family travel to the Tyrrells Court Farm, which in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside. Families can relax in the countryside, it is a good opportunity to promote Tyrrells culture to their customers. Firm can show how the potato have been planted, and also can show how the chips have been made by hand. This can build customers brand loyalty. Thirdly, Tyrrells Chips need to find out the place that is suitable for their market positioning. Tyrrells customers may not like to purchase chips in supermarkets like Tesco, ASDA, Morrisons. Luxury stores is more suitable for Tyrrells, for example, Selfridges, Harrods, FortnumMasons and Harvey Nichols. These luxury stores focus on the same grades of customers with Tyrrells. Therefore, customers in these luxury stores customers can be the target of Tyrrells. Another important tool that Tyrrells use is key account management. A simple definition of key account management is developing the nature of the customer relationship in order to enhance understanding and to identify the true opportunity; aligning the business resources to act on that enhanced understanding, in order to secure competitive advantage and to enhance profitability.  [4]  Using key account management to develop a closer relationship with key customers. Chips market is a market that strong dependence with big customers. Building a close relationship with these customers is very diffcult to start, however, when everthing get on the right track, it is very beneficial for Tyrrells to make a long-term strategy. Tyrrells should using this tool to build a close relationship. Tyrrells can not sell their chips in open market, or sell it by them self, they need to sell their pruducts by Harrods, Selfridges, Fortnum Masons, etc. Tyrrells should develop closer relationship with these customers with . Firstly, communcation should be emphasised. A successful communication can get information quicker and more efficient. Using new techinology to make communication more efficient is suitable for Tyrrells. For example, virtual communication tools can achieve communicate with these key customers from internal, rather than just sale department communicate with purchase department. Secondly, Tyrrells need to fulfill these customers need and response more quicker. Offer tailor-made services and products can close relationship with these big customers efficiency. Finally, feedback should not be ignored. Receiving feedback from internal of customers can detect how good that the strategy be done. When receive feedback from key accounts, can also make relationship one step forward. Tyrrells can also offer their products in transport. For example, business premier of Eurostar could be the first place to offer their chips. Tyrrells can also offer their chips in airline first-class, as a local airlines, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic can be the best choice to build partnerships. In addition, the food guide books in airplanes or trains in the first class can also promote their product as well. Finally, price might last important for Tyrrells. However, Tyrrells also need to control the price relevant with the market. Price also need to be taken seriously because price is the most intuitive factor to show Tyrrells Chips market position. Tyrrells through control the price to attract their target customers. Even though Tyrrells customers are less care about the price, Tyrrells Chips also need to connect the price with its worth, after all, price is an important factor in market economy. Task 3 Since 2002, Tyrrells Chips make a huge successful in crisps market. When Tyrrells enter crisps market, the niche market that Tyrrells need to focus on is premium crisps market. At year 2002, when Tyrrells Potato Chips enter the market, premium crisps represented about 21% of the total crisp market, but by 2007, five year later, premium crisps represented 29%  [5]  . That show the successful of Tyrrells enter the market, even it is difficult to enter, Tyrrells also take a position in the premium market. Since 2002, Tyrrells try to attracted new group of consumers. Tyrrells found out a specific way to produce and promote their chips, higher quality, and higher society grades. The eaters were changing from males to women who preferred low fat crisps.  [6]   From the year of 2002, Tyrrells enter crisps market as a fresh. The company operated very well in their target market. However, Tyrrells still weak of capital accumulation, 5 years past, Tyrrells still is a small company that offer products and services for small customers. Tyrrells did not expanse their target market, thus, it is difficult to increase their profit. Without capital accumulation, Tyrrells did not have enough budget to improve their products, services and promote. Moreover, it is very difficult to invest for the future. The firm also have no enough budget of market expansion. Inevitably, Tyrrells would be bought by investment group. Task 4 To build personal relationships with customers, Tyrrells need to focus on approach relationship marketing. relationship marketing orientation is more modern approaches relating to marketing orientation, have suggested a relationship marketing approach. this recognized the importance of retaining existing customers and developing relationships with stakeholder groups( e.g. suppliers, distributors, etc). the theory is based on the premise of building a relationship as opposed to simply generating transactions.  [7]   Relationship marketing is an approach that developed to improve transaction marketing. According the definition, the relationship marketing emphasis customers relationship and satisfaction, rather than a dominant focus on sales transactions. For Tyrrells, build personal relationship with customers need to be taken seriously. Communicating with customers is the best way to know customers needs. Further, in Tyrrells relationship marketing strategy, the firm should use bilateral communication rather than unilateral communication. It is beneficial for Tyrrells to share and communicate information with customers. In addition, Tyrrells need to co-operate with others, which can achieve win-win situation. The aims of co-operation is increase interest of every parts of chain rather than harm others interests. Tyrrells can achieve more via co-operating with others. Furthermore, emotion is another factor that influence relationship marketing. Relative to material needs, the firm also need to satisfy customers emotional needs. Tyrrells need to meet customers both material and emotional expectation in order to achieve customer satisfaction. Finally, people are different. Firm should develop a closer relationship with different personality by different solution. For example, developing closer relationship with women Tyrells. The women need to feel connected to the brand. This can be done with personalised electronic communications. It can make women feel more like a family than just transaction. However, developing closer relationship with men should communicate shortly and with points. Concise conversation can let gentlemen feel comfortable. Tyrrells also need to track customers attitude immediately. To develop immediately feedback from customers in order to control the relationship with customers. The major problem and core aim of relationship marketing is how to keep customers. Building customer loyalty is the main topic of relationship marketing. How can Tyrrells get customer loyalty in relationship marketing? Three easy step to achieve this. Firstly, seeking target customers needs. Firm need to analysis customers needs, and conclude client satisfaction. High quality of products, friendly services and comfortable shopping experience are which the factors might influence Tyrrells customers preference. Focus on customers satisfaction can bring tangible( returned customers) and intangible assets( promote firm to others). Secondly, fulfill these needs and ensure customer satisfaction. Tyrrells can achieve customers satisfaction with these ways: providing high quality and satisfactory products and services, providing additional benefits and providing efficient communication approach. For example, customers may not satisfied current little flavors, when Tyrrells got this information, then the firm need to develop more flavors. Finally, for Tyrrells niche market, the essence of market competition is how to keep the customer resources. To keep existing customers is more important than attract new customers for Tyrrells. Thus, building customers loyalty can bring lots benefits. In relationship marketing, the main problem is how to build and keep long-term and interdependent relationship with customers, suppliers or distributors. Therefore, Tyrrells need to communicate with others initiatively. This can share the information quickly, in addition, firm can provide services to their customers or solve the problems with suppliers and distributors. Finally, firm need to perform their promises and commitments. It is very difficult to build trust relationship in market behaviour, because all the firm in the market want to maximum their profits. However, Tyrrells is in a niche market which offer chips for higher society grades, these customers usually shopping with consumption inertia, thus, how to obtain customers trust is more important for Tyrrells. Usually, fulfilling commitments can achieve high degree of mutual trust. If the firm promise to their customer, therefore, no matter what happend and how hard to achieve it, Tyrrells have to perform this promise. Even though sometimes Tyrrells might get loss, as return, it can increase customers trust and loyalty. Task 5 As a rapidly developing company, Tyrrells need to invest more in promotion. To be a competitive company in this modern society, Tyrrells Potato Chips should build brand awareness. In the year 2009, a French luxury fashion design label Christian Lacroix prepare to bankruptcy. French design house Christian Lacroix has reportedly filed for voluntary bankruptcy as the label seeks to protect itself from an onslaught of creditors  [8]  At the same time, another luxury fashion design label Christian Dior still made considerable net income 796 millions Euro in 2008  [9]  . Even though people believed economic crisis is direct cause for the CL bankruptcy, however, other luxury labels like CD, Chanel, etc. still can made profits in that year. CL can design the same quality of dress with CD or Chanel, some time CLs design may more beautiful than others. However, the unsuccessful promotion is another main reason of CLs bankruptcy. Generally, promotion is communicating with the public in an attempt to influence them toward buying your products and/or services.  [10]  Shortly, the main objective of promotion is let firms target consumer know the brands which firm want consumers know. For Tyrrells, promotion can be achieved through various ways. As a famous chips manufacturer, Tyrrells should promote their chips brand in any relevant domains. For example, to be a sponsor of The Royal Welsh Show. Through sponsor for these show, Tyrrells can promote their business philosophy. healthy, premium and skilled. In addition, Tyrrells also can host society events, through communicate with consumers, to promote firms philosophy. Advertising is another communication tool that deliver messages to customers. As a main communication tool, advertise is a good way to promote the brand, also a effective way as well. Coca-Cola has long been recognized as the worlds most valuable brand. Its current value: $55 billion.  [11]  Advertising is an important factor that help Coca-Cola achieve this. In every Olympic Games, Coca-Cola will advertise their brand. In Atlanta 1996 summer Olympic, Coca-Cola advertised in any relevant area. The third quarter of 1996, Coca-Colas sale revenue increased 21%  [12]  . At the same time, as Coca-Colas biggest competitor, Pepsis profit decreased 77%  [13]  . This is a good instance for Tyrrells, Tyrrells should not content of current advertisement. Tyrrells can advertise on famous food magazine, like Restaurant Magazine. Luxury fashion magazine should be considered as well, Harpers Bazaar and Vogues could be good choices. In addition, invite gastronome and celebrity endorsements is another good way to advertise Tyrrells Chips. Even though Tyrrells do not have a big budget, they still need to highlight their advertising strategy. Omnipresent adversting is not very suitable for Tyrrells. One thing Tyrrells need to do is to aim their targets, key customers, affluent customers. It is more useful to adversting the point rather than adversting wide. Public relations is a communication tool that the firm use to building trust with public. The main mission of PR is how to maintain firms healthy image. Firstly, to be honest or at least let public think you are honest. Integrity is an important element for confidence-building. In the year 2009, Toyota was the largest car manufacturer in the world  [14]  . When customers complaints about Prius break problem and Toyota decided to repair those cars, it was already too late, Toyota lost the trust from consumers. Putting aside political factors, unresponsive public relations department might put the last straw on Toyota, to pull the firm into this passive situation. This is a bitter lesson for Toyota, however, Tyrrells can learn a lot from this case. Tyrrells should communicate with customers more efficient. Public relations department should receive the public problem Immediately. Then control and solve the problem as quickly as they can. Public trust is very easy to loss but hard to get, therefore, PR department should good at controlling the problem and make sure it will not be proliferated. Finally, Tyrrells should good at using a communication tool called internet marketing. Marketing on the internet is slightly different from real world. For Tyrrells, Marketing on the internet is promoting to young customers. Tyrrells can co-operate with social website like Facebook, Youtube or Twitter. For example, company can sponsor virtual farm on Facebook to attract young people, they can also use Twitter to push their voucher to customers. Tyrrells can collect customers email through using Tyrrells website log on system. The advantage is, Tyrrells can deliver their new message to the specific group of customers( younger, older, male, female, etc.). Disadvantage is, these emails might be marked by spams. Internet is not just promoting, customers could also shop online. Online shop can make transactions more flexible. When customers want to buy huge packages of chips, they can purchase a box of Tyrrells Chips online. It is very strange to purchase a box of chips, but when online shopping, customers do not need to worried about this. Online shopping also can make customers more flexible. For example, when customer shopping at Harrods, he want to purchase 5 packages of flavor Lightly Sea Salted, 5 packages of Sweet Chilli Red Pepper, it might very difficult to carry. However, online shopping can solve this problem. Chips are not clothes, sometimes customers do not need to fit them.

Stephen King :: essays research papers

The relief Stephen King's Constant Readers feel at seeing the first full-length novel from the horrormeister since his accident most likely overshadows the weaknesses they might find in an effort that, while not King's best, is neither his worst. Set partially in the Derry, Maine, of It and Insomnia, and with shades of Tommyknockers in its subject matter, Dreamcatcher hearkens back to It and that novel's theme of the lifelong endurance of childhood friendships -- especially when something unspeakable bound those long-ago children to one another. Four men meet for their annual deer hunting party deep in the Maine woods in a cabin full of happy memories. Though they've inevitably grown apart, their childhood ties are still strong. In the cabin's great room hangs a Native American dreamcatcher, strings woven about sticks said to have the power to protect slumbering humans from night terrors. This year, though, that hanging talisman will prove scant protection against an unearthly horror that will require sacrifices of the highest order from the knot of friends. The animals are fleeing the surrounding forest, for they sense the unwelcome visitors whose precursors were the spate of recent strange lights in the New England sky. For Pete, Beaver, Henry and Jonesy, the nightmare begins when a disoriented hunter named McCarthy stumbles into their camp. The situation quickly degenerates. McCarthy unwittingly plays host to a deadly parasitic creature and brings a rapidly multiplying fungal growth into the midst of the group. While the childhood friends battle an inexplicable and implacable enemy, a government covert operations team seals off the area. Their plan: to destroy all evidence of a threatening alien invasion like nothing the pulp sci-fi purveyors has prepared the world for. Led by a man who is quite possibly insane, the black ops unit will stop at nothing to contain the menace -- including the slaughter of the bewildered hunters they've herded from the surrounding forest. Even so, the government's answer is insufficient to the problem. The combined will of the four men, and their reunion with the dying boy-man whose uniqueness bound them all together so wondrously those years ago, is the only hope against the unrelenting usurper from the heavens. The very best part of Dreamcatcher is undoubtedly the magic of the boys' relationship in the flashbacks to an earlier Derry. The easy way their small circle assimilates a specially-gifted Down's Syndrome child breaks your heart with its glimpse of humanity's potential actualized.

The Role of Inspector Goole in in An Inspector Calls by J.B. Priestly E

The Role of Inspector Goole in An Inspector Calls Examine the role of Inspector Goole in An Inspector Calls & study the impact his role has on the rest of the characters in the play. Inspector Goole is the most important character in the play ‘An Inspector Calls’ because he is the catalyst for the events that take place in the play. Priestley’s intensions were to reveal to his audience the social state of England in 1945. He felt that little had changed since the turn of the century. Preistley was a socialist and he very strongly believed that everyone should be equal. In this play Preistley shows to the audience that at this time it was Socialist vs Capitalist, and that everyone was separated in to social classes. These were working class, middle class and upper class. In the play there is a character to fit into each one of these classes: Daisy Renton / Eva Smith – Lower class Mr Birling, Eric and Sheila – Middle Class Mrs Birling and Eric – Upper class In the play I think that Inspector Goole is Priestley’s social conscience. The play was written after World War 1 but was actually set at the turn of the century (in 1912). Mr Birling thinks that he knows everything but infact what he says is a load of rubbish, such as: '"The Titanic....unsikable, absolutely unsinkable"' where it sunk on its first journey. He also says there is no chance of a war happeining, but a few years later he is again proven wrong. Mr Birling is a very shallow man. The physical description of Inspector Goole is very unique and reveals a lot about his character. The Inspector ‘creates an impression of massiveness’ and this would be intimidating for the family. Priestly describes him as having ‘solidity’ and ‘... ...spector, some more obvious than others. For example the way in which he talks to the family, the family don't expect to be treated like this so they panic and reveal to having conections with Eva or Daisy. His name could also tell us that he is an imposter as its sound like 'ghoul' which is a ghost, in others words non existant. He has a very big effect on the family. Birling says: '"still, I can't accept any responsibility."' as he is scared of having his reputation disrupted, he would rather have his family take the blame. This shows he is a very selfish man. So I believe that Preistly shows his veiws through the character inspector Goole, he is valuable in the play because he author explain how he feels. He shows us about morality and morals. There has a good varity of characters in the play and the way the play slowly progresses is very good.

Assessment Plan for Unit Cu697 Handle Mail Criteria 4.1 †5.2 Essay

4.1 At Proactive Personnel we always use Royal Mail to send out our mail our packages. The options we use to send out our outgoing mail are 1st class, 2nd class and special delivery. The way we are able to tell what mail needs to go 1st, 2nd or special delivery is by our employees placing the mail in the specific trays to which they need, where as special delivery is known by ‘rec’ been wrote on the mail. 4.2 The way our postage prices are worked out is by using the Royal Mail franking machine. We choose the option that we require for the mail, then we weigh the mail/package on the scale on the franking machine to which we are then given a price. Once this is done we simply place the mail under and the machine stamps the mail. If the mail is too big there are special stickers used which get stamped and stuck on the package. 4.3 At Proactive Personnel we do not require the use of a courier service. If we ever did need to use one there are numerous companies ranging from D HL to Fedex that we could use. If we had a large parcel that needed to be delivered we would pay for the company to come collect it and then deliver it to the destination. The cost involves the labour done by the driver, the fuel and the safety of the package. 4.4 This is covered in 4.1 4.5 This is covered in 4.2 4.6 When franking the post and handling the mail we do not record the post, however we do occasionally have to top up the franking machine. This is done by an internet connection set up to the bank account. Once the machine is topped up we make a receipt using the franking machine these are then stored, to which we can see how much was used in a period of time and compare them. 4.7 The post here at Proactive Personnel is sent and received daily the quantities vary. We usually send out the post nearer the end of the day depending on how much there is to stamp it can vary from one hour before to 15 minutes before the end of the day. Wednesday we usually send the payslips out, so there is a large quantity which usually takes a while. 5.1/5.2 During the process of the all above numerous problems can happen. The problems can be the franking machine running out of ink, a letter that has been left behind, post being stamped the wrong price.
